Tangletown is a neighborhood in the Southwest community of Minneapolis. The neighborhood was officially known as Fuller until 1996 when it was changed to the present name, which reflects the winding streets in the neighborhood that do not conform to the regular street grid of South Minneapolis. The neighborhood boundaries are 46th Street to the north, Interstate 35W to the east, Diamond Lake Road to the south, and Lyndale Avenue South to the west.

Lyndale Ave Bridge to Close Ahead of Schedule 1/17/2012

The Lyndale Ave bridge crossing Minnehaha Creek is scheduled to close January 17, 2012, several weeks ahead of schedule. Please refer to the flyer from Nicollet East Harriet Business Association for information on reaching our local businesses effectively. Bridge construction and Lyndale Ave reconstruction south to 56th Street will continue through Fall 2012.

Lyndale Road & Bridge Projects Delayed Until 2012

The County and City will be delaying the Lyndale Avenue Road Reconstruction Project AND the Lyndale Avenue Bridge Replacement Project until 2012. There will be no construction this year. Please see the letter from Hennepin County for more information.

Last Community Energy Services neighborhood meetings of the year

The last Community Energy Services workshops of the year are being held on December 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at the Linden Hills Rec Center (3100 W 41st St.) and December 9th at 6:30 p.m. at Burroughs Community School (1601 W 50th St.).

Grant monies will update Fuller Recreation Center

$12,500 will fund new furnishings

The Tangletown Neighborhood Association will provide $12,500 in a Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP) grant funds for improvements to the Fuller Park Recreation Center in Minneapolis. The funding agreement was approved at the Feb. 3 meeting of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board of Commissioners (MPRB).

Energy Saver Rebates

Federal Stimulus Dollars are now available through the Fix-Up Fund Loan program. Residents who access the Fix-Up Fund will be eligible for an “Energy Saver Rebate” of 35% on all qualifying energy improvements. Qualifying energy improvements include: windows, doors, insulation, water heaters, heating and cooling.
